Central Mine Rescue Station W BYTOMIU

DMRS Bytom

The OSRG Bytom originates from the first Central (main) Rescue Station organizing and supervising mining rescue operations in Upper Silesia, established in 1907. In the same year, the Upper Silesian Main Rescue Station was established, and after expanding its activities to include research, it was named the Upper Silesian Main Mining Rescue Station and Experimental Drift in Bytom. In 1945, it was one of the three district mining rescue stations – in Bytom, Sosnowiec, and Wałbrzych, serving as the main station for its region.

On January 10, 1948, by the decision of the General Director of the Central Board of the Coal Industry, the enterprise “Mining Rescue Station of the Coal Industry” was established in Bytom, based on the existing district mining rescue stations, with branches in Sosnowiec and Wałbrzych. The Bytom station has regained its status as a central station. On December 31, 1949, a new organizational structure for the Mining Rescue Station of the Coal Industry was approved by the General Director of the Central Board of the Coal Industry. According to this organizational chart, in Bytom, a branch of the Mining Rescue Station of the Coal Mining Industry in Bytom was established.
